Cyber Innovation Centre

Cyber Innovation Centre

In 2015, Raytheon created its first Cyber Innovation Centre (CIC) in the United Kingdom. Located in South-West England, the CIC operates as a vulnerability research, software development and innovation hub for intelligence and global cybersecurity.

The centre brings industry, customers, partners and academia together under one roof to solve some of the most complex cyber issues.

The £3 million UK facility joins Raytheon Company's global network of cyber centres, broadening Raytheon UK's global cybersecurity research capability while exploiting the company’s decades of experience in detecting complex cyber threats for both government and commercial customers.

The internet has grown exponentially in the past 20 years, from 16 million users in 1995 to billions today. This has facilitated the global rise in cyber crime now estimated to cost £250 billion per year, or 20 percent of the internet economy. The U.S. government reports that cyber attacks have increased by 11,000 percent in the last decade.

Through its eco-system approach, Raytheon UK partners with domain experts, academia and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to develop the latest in network defence technologies protecting today's most sophisticated computer networks against cyber attacks.

The CIC will house more than 100 of the UK's most talented cyber professionals with expertise ranging from big data and analytics to network defence and cyber and information assurance projects, while utilising Raytheon's international capability and global partnerships.
