Sustainability Goals

Sustainabilty Goals

Raytheon has built our energy, water, greenhouse gas and zero waste programs on innovation, employee engagement, operational enhancements and stakeholder collaboration. We maintain a strong commitment to sustainability by continually raising the bar for conserving natural resources and reducing emissions and waste. In 2016, we set 14 sustainability goals to be achieved by 2020. They span the areas of greenhouse gases, energy, water, solid waste diversion, supplier packaging, renewable energy, materials of concern, and supplier sustainability commitment.

Raytheon channels our engineering expertise to help mitigate environmental impact and reduce our environmental footprint.

Raytheon's sustainability program incorporates environmental principles into everything we do.

Four Pillars of Raytheon Sustainability

Our sustainability program aligns with the missions and values of our customers. For example, the U.S. Department of Defense views sustainability as the ability to operate into the future without a decline in either its mission or the natural and man-made systems that support the mission.

Raytheon also sets goals and tracks progress to drive our sustainability program forward. Beginning 2008, we set 15 long-term sustainability goals and achieved virtually all of them by the year-end 2015 deadline.

We established another set of long-term sustainability goals in early 2016, with a 2020 achievement date. The goals address many areas including: energy, greenhouse gases, water, solid waste diversion, supplier packaging, renewable energy, materials of concern and supplier sustainability commitment.
