Mobile Range

Versatile, Multi-platform testing capability

Mobile Range® integrated suite of communications, optics and telemetry capabilities can be deployed anywhere in the world – on land, at sea or in the air – with minimal support staff or infrastructure. It enables in-country flight testing, demonstrations and data collection in a variety of environments and conditions. The rapidly deployable system can be set up and operational in as little as four hours.

Mobile Range equipment was designed to be modular, so it can be used across a variety of platforms. The system combines parabolic or flat-panel antenna systems with remote optics for target and range monitoring and communications - all controlled from an integrated mobile command center. It has a universal software control interface and can be operated or supported remotely via network connection. Antenna feeds include single, dual or tri-band.

In 2016, the Australian government selected Raytheon to modernize the Woomera Test Range — the world’s largest overland proving ground for planes, other platforms, radars and weapons systems. Mobile Range technologies are the foundation of the upgrade.

The Woomera Test Range modernization effort is the largest international sale of the Mobile Range system, which is already in use in the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
