Raytheon's Industry Development Unit (RTN IDU) promotes the interests of Australian industry by identifying and facilitating business opportunities through the Raytheon global supply chain. The IDU has been established under an agreement between the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and Raytheon Australia.
The IDU assists organisations by identifying potential opportunities for Australian firms, mentoring Australian industry to access the Raytheon Supply Chain, working with the CASG and other Federal Government agencies to co-ordinate trade missions and helping to break down the barriers that may otherwise deter local firms from doing business in the US defence market.
Opportunities for Australian industry include:
- Subcontracting to US Department of Defence and Civil Defence programs;
- Supplier roles for export where an original supplier's product is not exportable; or
- Supplier opportunities into Raytheon Company manufacturing or engineering capabilities.
