Corporate Responsibility

As the nation’s leading multi-domain partner for the Australian Defence Force, Raytheon Australia is committed to delivering effective support to our communities, our customer and our employees.

SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITIES WHERE WE LIVE AND WORK

At Raytheon Australia, we are invested in the local communities where we live and work. Through the sponsorship of community programs across South Australia, to establishing a school-based traineeship program for students in Exmouth, Western Australia, we are committed to supporting the communities where we are embedded.

Raytheon Australia is committed to giving back to the military community by supporting veterans as they transition into new career pathways. Raytheon Australia is proud to be a member of Soldier On’s Employment Pledge community - guaranteeing former military personnel and their spouses an interview for any role for which they meet the selection criteria.

In line with our support of the reintegration of veterans, Raytheon Australia launched Australia’s first industry-led Veteran Careers Translator.

DELIVERING EDUCATION AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR AUSTRALIAN YOUTH

With more than half of our workforce comprising engineers and technicians, Raytheon Australia has led transformational STEM and education initiatives over the last 20 years, providing career pathways for young Australians.

As a partner of the Australian Defence Force, Raytheon Australia is committed to investing in our nation’s future aerospace and avionics professionals. This is demonstrated through our partnership with the Australian Youth Aerospace Association, which has included sponsorship of AYAA’s annual aerospace and avionics forum and a series of aerospace scholarships for students from Australian high schools and universities.

Raytheon Australia also partners with schools to provide scholarships to those who show drive, initiative and interest in STEM disciplines. These scholarships reaffirm the value next-generation scientists and engineers will play in sustaining industry and national security.

Our support of advancing the education of young Australians began with our decade-long partnership with Questacon, which involved sponsorship of the Imagination Factory and MathsAlive! travelling exhibitions, investment in the Schmidt digital studio,  and support for the Engineering is Elementary pilot program.

In addition, Raytheon Australia is a champion for the Australian Academy of Science’s Women in STEM Decadal plan. As a company whose work is founded in STEM, we are investing in initiatives to increase the number of women in the workplace and removing barriers to inclusion where they are identified.

INVESTING IN FUTURE LEADERS

Raytheon Australia supports the education of the next generation of defence industry professionals and service personnel through engagement with Australian universities and the sponsorship of awards and prizes presented at Defence colleges around the country. As a sponsor of numerous awards, some for over 15 years, Raytheon Australia is demonstrating our enduring partnership with the customer.

Alongside this, we are invested in the development of our own people. Through our Leadership Continuum, we deliver a targeted professional development program, aimed at creating a pipeline of talented leaders at every level of the organisation. Beyond investing in our own leaders, we also invite our SMEs to participate in this unique program.

Our dedication to investing in future leaders continues through our graduate program, which includes the innovative GradX program, which allows university undergraduates to take their first steps into a future career in Defence.
