Capability Partner for Australia’s Defence
With two decades of success, Raytheon Australia is looking to future
With an in-country history spanning two decades, Raytheon Australia is looking to the future with a continued focus on its role as a trusted capability partner for Australia’s defence.
Since 1999, Raytheon Australia has formed an enduring and vital part of Australia’s defence fabric, investing in development of a truly sovereign workforce and comprehensive capability for Australia.
As one of the nation’s leading providers of whole-of-life capabilities for the Australian Defence Force, the company is committed to developing Australian Industry Capability and investing in local small- and medium-enterprises to grow its existing supplier portfolio of almost 500 companies across Australia.
“Recently we have taken the opportunity to look back on our two decades of success – reflecting on key moments in Raytheon Australia’s story,” said Managing Director Michael Ward.
“We have a strong record of Australians delivering for Australia, on a diverse range of programs.”
Raytheon Australia’s success integrating systems across multiple platforms in every domain over the last two decades has resulted in more than 10 million hours of combat system integration work, supported by complex program management on some of the country’s largest defence programs.
Such programs include its role as the combat systems integrator on the Air Warfare Destroyer program, the upgrade of the Woomera Test Range in South Australia and LAND 19 Phase 7B, which will provide Army with an integrated ground-based surface-to-air defence system.
“As we move into our third decade, we are now embarking on our next chapter,” Ward said.
“This will signify an evolution of who we are as one of the nation’s leading defence organisations, while assuring our priorities and building on the home-grown investment and expertise we have developed over the past 20 years.”
Raytheon Australia’s sustainable, skilled 1,500-strong workforce, which includes 700 engineers and technicians, have built trusted relationships with customers, partners and suppliers.
Backed by Raytheon Technologies, one of the world’s largest defence and aerospace companies, Raytheon Australia has a 20-year pedigree as a multi-domain prime and systems integrator, and currently delivers across more than 50 programs for the ADF.
Raytheon Australia’s experienced team is committed to delivering mature sovereign capability across joint battlespace systems, mission systems, above water systems and under water systems delivery areas. The company also remains focused on delivering innovative solutions for key areas including targeted exports, sovereign weapons, advanced test and training, as well as integrated air and missile defence.
“Our history speaks for itself – we are the product of 20 years of investment, experience and commitment in Australia. As we move into this next chapter, we aim to ensure each and every employee sees their place in our organisation and our stakeholders understand and value the capability that we can deliver,” said Ward.
