
Raytheon annually awards more than $2 million in MathMovesU scholarships and grants to recognize students, their teachers and schools for mathematical achievement and advancement. To date, Raytheon has recognized 1,421 students and teachers and more than 500 schools nationwide. In 2010, employee giving and matching grants for education totaled nearly $7 million.
Teachers
Math Hero Award

Math teachers and volunteers who work with students are eligible to receive a $2,500 Math Hero award for their part in improving math education. A matching grant of $2,500 is also awarded to their local school or an approved math-related nonprofit organization of their choice.

Raytheon-EiE Teacher Scholarship Program

Elementary teachers and science specialists are eligible to receive a $3,000 scholarship to attend an Engineering is Elementary® (EIE) Professional Development workshop created by the Museum of Science, Boston. This program is intended to encourage the inclusion of engineering and technology education in elementary classrooms by providing access to Engineering is Elementary workshops and materials.

Students
Middle School Grant and Scholarship Program

MathMovesU has redirected the $1,000 awards available to 150 middle school students. Students now have the option to attend math and science summer camps and programs across the country, or save the money for college. Raytheon will also continue to donate a $1,000 matching grant to each winning student's middle school.

FIRST Robotics Scholarship Program

Raytheon has established a scholarship program to assist First Robotics team members and competitors who plan to continue their education in college as math, science or technology majors. The program supports a wide range of educational options. Scholarships are offered for full-time study beginning sophomore, junior or senior year at an accredited institution or program of the student's choice.
