Community Relations

Inspire, Empower, and Engage

At Raytheon, we embrace our responsibility to give back to the communities in which we live. We believe in empowering veterans through continuing education. And we believe that if we inspire young students to develop and sustain an interest in math and science, we will encourage their pursuit of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) studies and careers — thereby preserving our country’s leadership status in technology and innovation. Our focused community relations efforts contributed to Raytheon’s recognition by The Civic 50 as one of 2012’s most community-minded companies.

Through partnerships, empowerment programs and employee volunteering efforts, Raytheon takes a strategic approach to corporate citizenship.

Ignition… Liftoff! Teens Face Off in World Model Rocketry Championship

Take one raw egg, launch it 750 feet in the air for 48 to 50 seconds, and retrieve it unscrambled. That’s the recipe for victory as teens from three countries compete in the world’s premier model rocketry championship on June 21 in Paris.

Georgetown 4-H team members Matt, Daniel and Mark won the U.S. national championship on May 11, 2013 and will be competing in the international fly-off.
