RTSC – Houston Contracts

Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL)/Space Vehicle Mockup Facility (SVMF) Operations Contract (NSOC)

Astronauts are trained for space walks at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) pool. Activities associated with spaceflight including all three main phases of flight (ascent, orbit and entry) are trained at the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility (SVMF).

As the prime contractor on the Operations contract RTSC performs Program Management, Procurement, Finance, Configuration and Data Management, Mission Assurance, Front End Planning (requirements, schedule, risk assessment and cost estimation) on the NBL and SVMF small projects and IDIQs (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity).

RTSC supports astronaut training, real-time mission anomaly resolution, timeline evaluations, Extravehicular Activity (EV) procedure development and verification, flight hardware design, development and validation, mockup development and modification, developmental engineering and analysis and public affairs support.
