Raytheon invites its Twitter followers to an exclusive, private tour of the new MathAlive! exhibit at the Smithsonian’s International Gallery, inside the Ripley Center, at 2 p.m. EST on Friday, March 9, 2012. The location is 1100 Jefferson Drive SW in Washington, D.C. The closest Metro station is the Smithsonian Mall exit.
This Raytheon Tweetup is an opportunity to be among the first to experience the many interactive galleries, including adventure sports, style and design, entertainment, video games, robotics and space before the exhibit opens to the general public. Participants will also be able to meet special guests as well as the people behind the @raytheon and @mathmovesu accounts. The event will be hosted by @schierholz.
We encourage participants to live tweet the experience. If you can’t travel to Washington, D.C. for the Tweetup, you can still follow the event on both @raytheon and @mathmovesu via the hashtag #mathalivetweetup.

What is a Tweetup?
A Tweetup is an informal meeting of people who use the Twitter social media platform.
How do I register?
Registration for this event is now closed. Raytheon will accommodate a total of 100 tweeps randomly selected from those who signed up online. Additional registrants will be placed on a waiting list.
Please note that registration is for one person and one guest. It’s non-transferable.
Do I need a Twitter account to register?
Yes. The Tweetup is designed for active Twitter users who follow @raytheon and @mathmovesu accounts.
What are the registration requirements?
Registration indicates your intent to travel to the Smithsonian’s International Gallery, inside the Ripley Center, in Washington, D.C. and attend the event in person. You are responsible for your own expenses for travel, accommodation, food and incidentals. Please let us know if you have any special needs or accessibility requirements prior to arriving at the event.
Selected participants will need to show a government-issued identification (passport or driver’s license) that matches the name on the registration. Those without proper identification will not be admitted. Registrants must be at least 18 years of age; guests must be at least eight years old.
Can I register if I am not a U.S. citizen?
Yes, non-U.S. citizens may register to attend this Tweetup.
When will I know if I am selected?
After Raytheon has received and processed the registrations, an email with confirmation information and additional instructions will be sent to those selected and those on the waitlist. We expect to send selection notifications by Wednesday, February 29. If you are selected, but cannot attend, please let us know so that we can give your space to someone on the waitlist.
How can I get in touch with other Tweetup participants?
We will create a Twitter list of those selected to attend the event. By registering for this event you understand that you will be included on the list of Tweetup participants.
What else should I know?
You will be asked to sign a photo release form allowing Raytheon to use images or video taken of you during the event.
We also reserve the right to exclude any person whose actions in any way interfere with the proper operation of the Tweetup.
