Raytheon is poised to expand its AESA radar market in Asia showcasing the F-16 RACR and F-15 advanced tactical radar systems at the Seoul Air Show this week.
With defense budgets being squeezed around the world, customers are looking to keep their airborne assets combat relevant through competitive procurements and upgrade programs. Taiwan and Korea are both exploring how to best keep their air force fleets at the forefront of tactical capabilities.
“We believe Raytheon is well positioned to meet customer needs in the region from a tactical performance, affordability and reliability standpoint,” said Jim Hvizd, vice president for international strategy and business development for the Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems division.
“RACR has been designed for the F-16, is based upon our state of the art, combat proven radar technology operational with US and coalition partners. And our F-15 AESA radar is a differentiator as part of Boeing’s F-15 Silent Eagle offering in the Korean FX-III fighter competition.”
Raytheon’s AESA technology and proven reliability is backed by over 250,000 hours of operational flight time. We are unique in our proven ability to support multiple platforms, domestically and internationally: F/A-18E/F, EA-18G, F-15C, F-15E.
