For the first time in India, Raytheon Missile Systems will publicly display a demonstrator version of its less-than-lethal Silent Guardian™ system at the Aero India trade show in Bengaluru.
Show attendees and members of the media will have to opportunity to voluntarily experience the system at the Raytheon booth.
The Silent Guardian protection system is a revolutionary less-than-lethal directed energy application that employs millimeter wave technology to repel individuals or crowds without causing injury. The system emits a focused beam of wave energy that travels at the speed of light and produces an intolerable heating sensation that causes targeted individuals to flee. The sensation immediately ceases when the targeted individual moves away from the beam.
“Raytheon’s Silent Guardian system is the best long-range non-lethal system available on the market today,” said George Svitak, business development director at Raytheon Missile Systems. “We have numerous medical studies more than 12,000 tests on human subjects that prove the safety of this technology.”
According to Svitak, the system is available for export viable Direct Commercial Sale and Raytheon has received a license for transfer of technology to India.
“We see great opportunities for partnerships in India,” said Svitak. “Raytheon is committed to providing innovative solutions like Silent Guardian that help ensure our government partners have the equipment and training they need to provide regional security and stability.”
Silent Guardian produces precise effects at longer ranges than current less-than-lethal systems and provides real-time ability to establish intent and de-escalate aggression. Various commercial and military applications include law enforcement, checkpoint security, facility protection, force protection and peacekeeping missions.
“Raytheon’s Silent Guardian technology could provide a country with immediate, precise and responsive capability in a variety of potential missions, including the protection of high-value assets and critical infrastructure,” said Svitak. “The non-lethal Silent Guardian system provides military, civilian law enforcement and security organizations a truly non-lethal system that is optimized for situations where the use of lethal force may not be appropriate or warranted.”
