While it may not be as recognizable as the entertainment industry, the aerospace and defense industry is certainly a key economic driver for the city of Los Angeles. And for over seven decades now, Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) has been one of the local technology leaders in this market.

Speaking recently with the Financial Times, SAS President Jon Jones emphasized that the region has always stood out in terms of talent. California has “always been a place that spawned and supported innovation,” Jones said in the interview. “It was pretty amazing listening to the roar of engine testing from my back garden when I was younger.”
