RMS Tech IDEX 11 Pilot Inset PicRaytheon has been awarded a $42 million pilot training contract for Afghan Air Force students.  The training will take place in the Middle East and will cover operation of both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft and English language proficiency for up to 80 students.

The contract supports the NATO Air Training Command-Afghanistan and is part of the Warfighter Field Operations Customer Support (FOCUS) program managed by the U.S. Army.

“Our customer-focused professionals are proud to have been selected to deliver this training,” said Mike Edwards, vice president for Raytheon Technical Services Company, LLC and program manager for WTA and its more than 140 subcontractors. “We have the right people with the right skills and talents to ensure we train individuals who are capable of transitioning Afghanistan’s newest service into self-sufficiency.”

The Raytheon-led Warfighter FOCUS program is in its third year of delivering live, virtual and constructive training solutions that leverage proven technologies, integrated logistics support and expert engineering services.
