A team comprising members of Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems, Network Centric Systems and the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) group are participating in the Empire Challenge 2007, a demonstration exercise to evaluate intelligence collection systems for joint and coalition operations. The exercise, which began July 15, is taking place at the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center, China Lake, Calif. During the Challenge, the team will install key systems to enhance data sharing among coalition forces and multiple coalition sites in Europe. The demonstration will show how Raytheon can help improve situational awareness and intelligence sharing by bringing common and standardized data into a joint network-centric environment. The Raytheon programs being demonstrated at the challenge are:
- Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS)
- DCGS Integration Backbone (DIB)
- Raytheon High Speed Guard-Agatiya
- Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS)
- Joint Target Manager (JTM)
- Total Battlespace Awareness (TBSA)
- Multi-Sensor Aerospace/Ground Joint ISR Interoperability Coalition (MAJIIC)
The Empire Challenge exercise is designed to test and demonstrate techniques, standards and procedures for coalition ISR assets, using a variety of U.S. and allied DCGS ground systems. By federating U.S. DCGS systems with DIB installed at coalition sites worldwide, system users can rapidly share battlespace information in real time.
