Raytheon looks forward to expanding its relationship with India as India seeks to meet its growing defense and aerospace requirements.
“Raytheon’s core competencies and India’s agenda for updating its capabilities are well-matched,” said Walter Doran, regional executive for Asia.
According to Doran, there are many areas in which Raytheon can support India with the best mission systems solutions available:
-
Equipping India’s multi-role combat aircraft. Raytheon can provide many integrated sensor and missile systems to add accuracy and lethality to the aircraft, including the AESA radar, ATFLIR targeting pod, Paveway laser-guided bomb, and Maverick missile guidance and control system.
-
Enhancing India’s air and missile defense. India has made this a major goal and air and missile defense capabilities are among Raytheon’s greatest strengths, including the company’s advanced sensors, radars, and command and control systems.
-
Supporting the Indian Navy’s modernization program. Raytheon has a long heritage and expertise as a ship systems integrator, including its role in developing the LPD-17 amphibious warfare class of ships and future U.S. Navy destroyer, DDG 1000.
-
Supporting India’s modernization of its C4I capabilities (command, control, communications, computers and intelligence). With its substantial expertise in C4I, Raytheon can assist India in developing net-centric operations for its army and navy. A leader in border and infrastructure protection, the company can also provide solutions that fuse information to detect and identify risks and respond to emergencies.
Across all of these areas, Raytheon brings to the Indian market superior Mission Systems Integration capability: the ability to integrate multiple systems to most effectively accomplish specific customer missions. With Raytheon’s superior engineering capabilities, the company can successfully integrate its systems with equipment from around the world.
