Raytheon is upgrading the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) at Clear Air Station, Alaska, under contract with the U.S. Air Force. Raytheon will replace the existing mechanical radars at the Clear Air Station with a newer, more supportable solid state phased array radar. The company is deinstalling a Raytheon-built radar from its decommissioned site in El Dorado, Texas (shown here) and rein-stalling it in Clear.
