#HT4H Spotlights Military Heroes During National Military Appreciation Month

Veterans and their supporters unfurl a huge U.S. flag on the field at Gillette Stadium on Veterans Day 2012.

It was an old-fashioned photo album with a weathered cover. The pages were discolored. The faded images were black and white, but the memories were anything but.

"My dad was a young airplane mechanic during World War II," said Corinne Kovalsky, the company's director of digital and social media. "To be able to share his photo and recognize his contribution means a lot."

Beginning on Armed Forces Day, May 18th, and running through the end of National Military Appreciation Month, Raytheon hosted a #HT4H Faces of Service gallery to spotlight those who have served in the Armed Forces, National Guard and Reserves throughout our history.

Raytheon provided an online destination for social media users to express their appreciation for the contributions of the Armed Forces in building and safeguarding the nation and its allies.

Social media users were encouragedto share photos of their military heroes, past and present. To populate the gallery, users simply taggedtheir Twitter, Instagram and Vine posts with #HT4H.

The Hashtags4Heroes program uses social media's vast reach to salute the troops. This gallery was the latest iteration of the program, which beganin2012to raise awareness for wounded warriors. In November 2012, the program expanded to include all veterans, culminating in a daylong celebration on Veterans Day.
