Raytheon Invites Twitter Followers to Join Us in Honoring Our Nation’s Veterans
Raytheon is inviting 20 Twitter followers to participate in a day of activities honoring our nation’s veterans on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, in Foxboro, Mass. They will join the company at a Patriots-Bills game and participate in special activities to recognize our nation’s servicemen and women.
Registration for this event is now closed.
Raytheon believes in its responsibility to give back to those who demonstrate every day their commitment to protect our country. As part of the company's armed services support program, Raytheon commits resources toward veteran employment programs; volunteerism and giving among employees; and sponsorship of key programs. Veterans Day and the month of November provide a fitting opportunity to recognize these everyday heroes.
Raytheon will be recognizing 150 veterans and their families at Gillette Stadium on Nov. 11. Twenty of @Raytheon’s followers will be invited to join the company in honoring the veterans and attending the game, in which the New England Patriots will take on the Buffalo Bills.
Participants will learn more about Raytheon and its capabilities across air, land, sea, space and cyber. They will meet the company’s digital team and learn how they use social media to connect and engage. They will talk with Raytheon’s Robert Curbeam, Jr., a retired US Navy captain and former NASA astronaut, about his work and the company’s commitment to those in uniform; hear from the community relations team about the breadth of Raytheon’s corporate social responsibility initiatives; and explore the Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon.
Anyone can follow along with all the activities using the hashtags #meetRay and #HT4H and by following @Raytheon. Raytheon ran a social media campaign called Hashtags for Heroes, the genesis of the #HT4H hashtag, during Military Appreciation Month in May.
Registration for the Tweetup ended on Sunday, Oct. 21.
