Wes Kremer, vice president of Raytheon’s Air and Missile Defense Systems, will speak at the RUSI Missile Defense Conference in London on May 31 about partnering to create a territorial ballistic missile defense capability with NATO. His primary focus will be the Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) program and how the defensive asset is the lowest risk, least expensive option for territorial missile defense.
The RUSI conference is a key European forum for networking and discussion between senior policy makers and practitioners. In addition, the conference will be the first opportunity following the Chicago Summit for NATO to publically discuss the next steps in establishing a ‘Smart Defense’ capability.
Smart Defense measures encourage allies to cooperate in the process of developing and acquiring defense capabilities in these fiscally challenging times. Raytheon continues work on Standard Missile-3 Maritime Missile Defense, a defense strategy designed to support European nations as they seek to fulfill NATO’s territorial missile defense requirement.
