Thanksgiving Book
"It's a Family Thanksgiving" was written by Debbie Fink, president of Harmony Hearth, LLC. The publication includes historical information on Thanksgiving, holiday recipes and activities for school age children. The colorful, illustrated book thanks young people for supporting their parents serving on the battlefield and at home.
This fall, copies of "It's a Family Thanksgiving" will be packaged and shipped to children of warfighters throughout the U.S. and overseas with the help of Raytheon employee volunteers.
Sylvia Kidd, director of AUSA Family Programs, praised Raytheon for its ongoing support of the publication during an AUSA Military Forum program at the association's Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C., Oct. 10-12. Mark Bigham, IIS vice president of business development, Defense and Civil Mission Solutions, and John Clemons, corporate director of community relations, accepted a plaque of recognition on behalf of Raytheon.
The project was supported by Raytheon's corporate, Technical Services Company LLC, and Intelligence and Information Systems offices in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area — the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia — known as the DMV Community Relations Hub. This Hub is one of several in which community relations representatives from various Raytheon businesses work together on corporate responsibility outreach projects.
