Sum of all Thrills Preview Video
Students from the Dearborn Middle School in Roxbury, Mass., preview the online experience before the official launch.

Buckle up — the thrill of creating your own roller coaster is now as close as your computer.

Raytheon's MathMovesU® program has launched an interactive Web component of its popular theme-park experience Sum of all Thrills™ at INNOVATIONS at Epcot® at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Celebrating its second anniversary, Sum of all Thrills™  is a one-of-a-kind experience that lets children of all ages custom-design their own ride using mathematical tools and then immediately experience it in a robotic simulator.

The online component allows students to create and enjoy thrilling virtual roller-coaster rides, pilot jet-fighter planes or ride bobsleds that dip, dive, dodge and swerve through loops, turns and barrel rolls at maximum speeds and velocities — while teaching them science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts. The Sum of all Thrills™ online component is also available via Facebook, and students are encouraged to share their creations with friends.

Recognizing the U.S. need to maintain its global leadership in math and science, Raytheon is promoting STEM education through initiatives such as Sum of all Thrills™ to excite students and inspire them to become the next wave of technologists and innovators.

In Massachusetts, Raytheon hosted preview events at Hanscom Middle School in Lincoln and at Dearborn Middle School in Roxbury where middle school "test engineers" designed their own rides.
