Raytheon has been selected to partner with the Republic of Estonia Ministry of Interior to pilot a traveler management system that will facilitate more efficient processing of airline passengers.

The Portera™ suite of systems will allow Estonia to become one of the first nations in Europe to deploy an automated risk assessment system.  With the deployment of this capability, Estonia’s border, customs and security personnel will have more efficient access to information in order to better protect their nation’s external borders.

Portera Gateway™, a component of the system, gives immigration authorities rapid access to Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) information, performs checks against watchlists and disseminates alerts. Also, Portera protects individual privacy by providing the capability to mask personally-identifying data after receipt from the air carrier.

Raytheon plans to use the Estonian pilot to showcase new features on its Portera products and as an operational case for other Baltic nations to examine as they plan for their own sovereign systems.
