This week is National Volunteer Week — a week to honor people who dedicate themselves to active community engagement through a variety of local and national outreach efforts.

“Raytheon encourages volunteering because it supports our commitment to corporate responsibility,” said William H. Swanson, Raytheon Chairman and CEO. “Volunteering reflects Raytheon’s values of focusing on people, integrity, commitment and excellence. Our employees are so passionate, dedicated and caring, and they have quite an impact in all our communities.”

Raytheon employees across the world volunteer thousands of hours in their communities. In 2010, they more than doubled their logged volunteer hours. Raytheon’s community involvement revolves around STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) initiatives, support for the armed services and local outreach.
