Raytheon's FIRST Robotics Scholarship program, the only corporate scholarship program to provide funds that can be used to attend any school, is now accepting applications for the 2011 cycle.
Each year, 40 $1,000 scholarships are given to high school seniors and college students who have participated or are participating in FIRST Robotics.
Raytheon is a strong supporter of FIRST Robotics, sponsoring more than 35 teams each year throughout the country and providing mentors and volunteers to both teams and competitions.
Raytheon’s support of FIRST is a component of its MathMovesU® program, an initiative designed to engage middle school students in math and science and help create the next generation of innovators for the U.S. Since the program was launched in 2005, it has touched the lives of more than 1 million students, teachers and parents nationwide.
