Raytheon's DDG 1000 program was honored at Aviation Week's annual Program Excellence Awards ceremony in Phoenix, Ariz. The program was recognized for excellence in program performance and earned top honors in the system level production category.
Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business leads an industry team in the design, development and production of an integrated suite of combat system software and mission system equipment for the DDG 1000 Zumwalt-class destroyer, the U.S. Navy's next generation, multi-mission surface combatant.
Finalists and winners were chosen by an advisory council of industry and academic experts in program management. The council and awards are organized and overseen by Aviation Week. The award criteria are extensive, evaluating program finalists for value creation, excellence and uniqueness;done organizational elements, opportunity management, processes and best practices; agility and adapting to complexities; and program performance and metrics.
