Raytheon's latest edition of Defender®, Volume 5, Issue 3, features Global Security: Securing Borders, Protecting Nations. This issue highlights homeland defense and the critical need faced by nations to secure land borders, coastlines and international air routes.

U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael J. Fisher speaks to Defender about his agency’s mission to secure America’s borders, working to keep those borders sealed from illegal incursions and contraband, as well as the evolving threat America faces from terrorists.

The magazine also includes conversations with Ilkka Laitinen, executive director of Frontex, on establishing and maintaining border security cooperation among the member states of the European Union, and Vappala Balachandran, former special secretary and cabinet secretariat for the government of India, on the state of Indian national security in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks.
