Raytheon Solipsys was recently named as one of the "25 Best Places to Work" in the Baltimore metro area by Baltimore, the oldest city magazine in America.

“It’s an honor to be publicly recognized as a great place to work,” said Robin Goble, director of Human Resources and Administration. “But we’ve known this for a long time. This recognition makes us proud of who we are and what we do. No doubt, it will help attract more good people.”

The Road to Selection
According to Baltimore writer Christina breda Antoniades, the process of identifying the top companies began “with a flurry of calls to those in the know: recruiters, business development leaders, community leaders and, of course, employees.” Employers then completed a questionnaire about their 401(k) programs, health benefits, diversity initiatives, career development offerings and other programs.

To be eligible for the list, companies also had to be financially healthy and hiring in the coming year.

Why Solipsys Stood Out
“When you ask them what they like about their jobs, (Raytheon) Solipsys employees usually mention two things: each other and making products that make a difference,” the Baltimore article said.

The article also pointed out the company’s 401(k) plan, vacation policy, health and dental, wellness, tuition reimbursement for undergrad and graduate programs, state-of-the-art labs, and its “main street” atmosphere that includes retail shops, restaurants and a fitness facility.

Raytheon Solipsys is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company. Located in Fulton, Md., it is part of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, reporting through Global Business Operations. The company specializes in creating and applying its innovative software solutions to command and control, information shared awareness, deep sensor reach, aircraft control, air defense, disaster management and time-critical decision making.
