| Raytheon’s expertise in training management, combined with the Raytheon Six Sigma (R6S) framework, is providing a valuable contribution to the initial phase of a long-term contract with the U.K. Ministry of Defence (MoD). A Raytheon team completed three successful R6S workshops with customers and partners as part of the Defence Training Rationalisation (DTR) Programme, a 30-year MoD contract. As a result of initial successes, the customer has approached Raytheon to lead an additional workshop. Raytheon is participating in DTR as a member of the Metrix Consortium. Initially, the MoD’s goal is to move training management and services from three defense colleges, covering 11 different schools, to one site. The R6S framework is being implemented to help manage this large-scale project. In a kickoff workshop held in May 2008, 31 people from the MoD and the Metrix Consortium received a comprehensive overview of R6S. The second workshop, held in September 2008, provided R6S Specialist training to 30 MoD and Metrix personnel. In November 2008, the Raytheon group led a Visionary Team Planning workshop, which focused on verifying data that would be gathered during site visits to the 11 MoD schools covered by the program. Two more workshops are scheduled for September 2009 and March 2010. In addition, one of the MoD schools has asked Raytheon to conduct a Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist training with its staff. |
About DTRDTR is a 30-year contract that is being awarded by the MoD to the Metrix Consortium. As a member of the consortium, Raytheon is currently participating in the early phases of the program and will have responsibility for all course redesign, development and training management and support (TM&S) for the duration of the contract. |
