Raytheon was recently honored by the National Business Group on Health as one of the nation’s leading corporations for innovative programs promoting a healthy workplace. Raytheon was recognized with a "Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles" award for helping its employees and their families make better choices about their health and well-being.

Raytheon received a Gold Award for its Mission:Health wellness program. This is the third Gold Award for Raytheon, following awards received in 2005 and 2006. “Raytheon is extremely proud to be recognized for its commitment to providing a healthy workplace and to improving our employees’ health and well-being,” said Keith Peden, Raytheon senior vice president of Human Resources. “Raytheon has worked hard to create and maintain a variety of innovative and effective health and wellness programs and this award is a validation of our efforts.”

Mission:Health, Raytheon's health engagement strategy, encompasses the company's medical, disability, wellness and work/life programs. Through Mission: Health, the company delivers Raytheon Wellness — a comprehensive health and wellness initiative offered to employees and their families. Raytheon Wellness encourages employees and their families to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles, and strives to provide a culture that supports employee health through fitness programs; healthy dining and vending choices; health screenings; preventive health programs and resources, including Health Quotient, an online health risk assessment; online lifestyle improvement programs; activity and weight loss campaigns; a tobacco cessation program, and additional program offerings.

Now in its fifth year, the "Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles" awards recognize those employers that have truly embraced a culture of wellness and are working collaboratively to improve their workers’ health, productivity and quality of life. The underlying goal of the program is to serve as a catalyst to encourage all employers to take action.
