IndustryWeek magazine has named Raytheon’s Advanced Products Center (APC), headquartered in Dallas, Texas, one of the top 10 plants in North America as a result of its annual survey.
The APC was commended for its lean tools, leading-edge technology and empowered workforce. The facility met its goals in more than 28 categories, including on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, scrap/rework, yield, cost and waste reduction.
The facility was also commended for its commitment to quality and Raytheon Six Sigma. Overall, the APC estimates that it has delivered more than $160 million in cost savings to its customers over the last eight years and reduced its cost of quality by 61 percent over the past three years.
The IndustryWeek survey recognizes plants that are leaders in operational efficiency and competitiveness, enhance customer satisfaction and create stimulating and rewarding work environments. It also encourages other manufacturing managers and teams to emulate the honorees by adopting world-class practices, technologies and improvement strategies.
“This recognition clearly shows that APC demonstrates outstanding performance for our customers,” said Dennis Reed, vice president for Operations at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems. “When customers do business with APC, they can count on superior results because APC has the people, processes, capital and innovation to deliver the right product at the right time.”
