Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) CIO Emanuel Brady Jr. has been recognized as a “change agent and breakaway IT leader” by Computerworld magazine in its 10th annual list of Premier IT Leaders. He received his award earlier this month at the magazine's IT Leaders' conference in Phoenix.
“The 2009 list of Premier 100 IT Leaders, more so than ever before, are making a clean break with traditional IT strategies and roles," said Scot Finnie, editor-in-chief of Computerworld. “Changing forces in the technology environment are spurring these smart, agile IT leaders to seize new opportunities.”
This year’s recipients were selected from over 1,000 nominees, who were measured against Computerworld’s IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations and an evaluation by the editors and a panel of outside judges. The candidates were asked about a range of topics, including their backgrounds, work experiences, special accomplishments and leadership styles.
The program honors executives who show exemplary technology leadership in resolving pressing business problems. Honorees demonstrate the ability to foster creativity, envision fresh approaches and effectively manage IT investments.
“It is no surprise that Emanuel has been honored as a premier IT leader,” said Rebecca Rhoads, Raytheon vice president of IT and CIO. “The impact he has made through his leadership and understanding of business priorities make him a terrific asset to the company and to his team.”
