On Dec. 15, Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC celebrated the grand opening of its Orlando, Fla., building which houses the program management team for the U.S. Army’s Warfighter Field Operations Customer Support (FOCUS) program.
The 70,000-square-foot building, located at the Central Florida Research Park, is home to 225 Raytheon and Warrior Training Alliance employees. The Raytheon-led WTA with major teammates Computer Sciences Corporation, General Dynamics IT and MPRI, provides turnkey, lifecycle training services at more than 400 locations worldwide.
“Our team has a presence at all Army training locations around the world so we can truly provide support to the Army whenever and wherever our warfighters need it,” said Richard Yuse, RTSC president, during remarks at the grand opening. “That support starts here in Orlando.”
Warfighter FOCUS is a U.S. Army program under the Program Executive Office for Training, Simulation and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) to consolidate operations and maintenance, systems integration and engineering support services for the Army’s live, virtual and constructive training systems.
“In addition to being closer to our customer, we have also consolidated office space and have included room for our teammates,” said Mike Edwards, an RTSC vice president and the WTA program manager, during the grand opening ceremony. “This will enable us to operate more efficiently for our customer.”
The building has a demonstration area where various technologies for live, virtual and constructive training can be viewed. It is also home to the WTA's central engineering laboratory and a logistics depot auxiliary facility.
Dr. James Blake, program executive officer for PEO STRI; Russ McBride, PEO STRI program manager for Warfighter FOCUS; several members of the WTA’s Senior Advisory Board; and RTSC leaders attended the grand opening event.
The Raytheon-led Warrior Training Alliance is a team of industry leaders in training who bring proven, current and relevant experience across all training environments, including live, virtual and constructive. With a combined legacy of successfully executing large-scale and complex programs, the WTA is organized to apply the right resources to successfully accomplish each task and to deliver the best value, lowest risk solutions.
