Since many kids enjoy playing sports or watching sports, I invite coaches from high school varsity teams, local leagues, and colleges to give lectures on how they use math in determining their strategy. Coaches do not only analyze statistics for their own team but also look at statistics of their opponents to develop their game play. For example, students learn how to calculate a baseball player’s batting average and use this mathematical information to figure out what batting order would be the most efficient during a baseball game.”
