Network Centric Systems (NCS), with 2005 sales of $3.2 billion,
improved performance throughout its operation and achieved
excellent financial results.
From dramatically more effective approaches to program management to enhanced
modeling and simulation capabilities, NCS is better equipped than ever before
to deliver network-centric solutions with speed and effectiveness to defense,
transportation and homeland security customers. The business ended the year with
a record backlog of $4.3 billion, up 20 percent compared with 2004.
NCS is a world-class provider of Electro-Optical/Infrared
(EO/IR) technologies, which are at the heart of its night
vision and detection and targeting systems that enable
warfighters to identify adversaries regardless of conditions
and strike with precision.
NCS is developing advanced EO/IR sensors for programs such as the U.S. Army’s
Future Combat Systems and is applying its EO capabilities in exciting new fields,
including laser communications.
