Working together to develop future science and engineering leaders.
Raytheon has partnered with the American Meteorological Society (AMS) to sponsor two fellowships awarded to first-year graduate and undergraduate students studying science and engineering.
AMS selected Ryan Neely III of Boulder, Colo., and Bradley Bauer of State College, Pa., as the recipients of the 2008-2009 AMS-Raytheon Company Fellowships.
"It's an honor to be selected for this prestigious award," Neely said. "The AMS-Raytheon Fellowship puts me closer to realizing my professional aspiration to study one of my true passions."
The Raytheon-sponsored fellowships are two of 13 annual fellowships that the AMS awards to attract emerging scientists and engineers to careers in atmospheric, oceanic and hydrographic science industries. Raytheon’s support of the AMS and the winning students’ achievements directly align with the company’s operational priority to transform the workplace by helping build the next generation of talented leaders.
"These fellowships demonstrate Raytheon’s commitment to the atmospheric and oceanographic sciences by helping develop future leaders in these fields," said Mike Keebaugh, president of Raytheon’s Intelligence and Information Systems. "As a major provider of space and information sensors and systems for our nation’s meteorological and oceanographic community, our business depends on attracting the brightest minds to our company."
