The Daily Breeze, a newspaper in southern California, recently profiled Brian Arnold, vice president of Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS). Arnold retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of lieutenant general after 34 years of service.
In his role as vice president of SAS, Arnold oversees the Strategic Systems mission area, which provides space sensor capabilities for civil, defense and intelligence markets. Key programs include the Space Tracking and Surveillance System, Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometers (MODIS) on NASA’s Earth Observing System, and the Visible/Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System.
