The Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Integration Backbone (DIB) is an open-architecture designed to provide interoperability at the data services level for all the U.S. military and coalition services.

The DIB is a set of common interface standards and tools that allow seamless intelligence data sharing and collaboration across the C4ISR enterprise of enterprises, delivering the right information at the right time to maximize operational effectiveness.

Raytheon first developed the DIB under the DCGS 10.2 program for the U.S. Air Force. The program modernizes their distributed ISR systems, creating a worldwide, network-centric enterprise for real-time information sharing. The upgrade integrates multiple intelligence systems into a single, worldwide network-centric-enterprise, enabling interoperability and improved collection and delivery of ISR data. DCGS web-based technologies will transform ISR into an integrated element of Department of Defense (DoD) Command and Control systems.
