Rcareers FAQs

I applied to several jobs in RayCATS. Do I have to reapply for these positions in Rcareers?
No, you do not have to reapply. If you are an active candidate on an open requisition in RayCATS, your information transferred over to Rcareers.

Did my candidate profile in RayCATS migrate over to Rcareers?
No, it did not. Please go to Rcareers and fill out a new profile, select your job search preferences, upload your latest resume, and update your personal contact information.

Did my records migrate over from RayCATS to Rcareers?
Maybe.

  1. If you are an active candidate on an open requisition, everything (your application, resume, cover letters, etc.) moved over from RayCATS to Rcareers.
  2. If you are an inactive candidate (i.e., no longer under consideration) on an open requisition, your name is still associated with the req and your records did migrate over to Rcareers.
  3. If you are an inactive candidate on an inactive req, all of the records associated with that closed req have moved to the Data Warehouse storage server. They are no longer available to you unless your local recruiter retrieves them.

If I referred someone to RayCATS, am I still connected to them in Rcareers? And can I see the statuses of my referrals in Rcareers?
Yes, you are. The same criteria (listed above) applies to referral candidates. You will not be able to see the status of your referrals in Rcareers.

What information am I able to see in an internal job description?
Available fields are: Posting title, Requisition ID, Salary Grade, Business, Work Location, Job Function, Type of Job, Clearance Type, Expertise, Years of Experience, Hiring Manager, Job Grade/Level, and Date Job was Updated.

How can I know what requisition I applied to? I don't see the business identifier (ID number) in the new requisition number.
The old req number was assigned a new number in Rcareers. Try searching for the position by title, business, work location and/or other search fields. The new req number will appear in your search results. Any new jobs you apply to in Rcareers will be acknowledged with the req number so you can reference them later.

How do I know what stage (Resume Review, Interview, Offer Initiated, Not in Consideration, etc.) my application is in the recruiting process?

  1. If you applied for a position in RayCATS, you will not be able to see the stage you are in (called HR Status) in Rcareers; you will need to wait for the recruiter to take an action on your submittal.
  2. If you applied for a position in Rcareers, you will be able to see your HR Status the day after an action is taken on your candidacy. The application refreshes HR Statuses on a nightly basis.

What search fields can I use to find jobs in Rcareers?
Available fields are: Keyword, Requisition ID, Job Function, Expertise, Type of Job, Work Location, Date of Posting, and Proximity Search.

If I am not ready to apply for a job but want to save my search, what should I do?
You can do two things:

  1. Save the position in the Job Cart
  2. Create a Search Agent so that you can return to your search results later.

Will I receive automatic notifications when positions matching my job search criteria are available to apply to?
Yes you will. You will also receive a notification if you have been referred for a position, so that you can apply. You will not be considered an applicant for a job unless you fill out a candidate profile and apply for the position. You should also receive a formal notification from the recruiter if you are dispositioned (i.e., no longer under consideration) for a position.

What is new and different about Rcareers vs. RayCATS?
Rcareers has enhanced features to link your application to a referral or source of hire (i.e., job fair, job board, agency, etc.). Also, Rcareers makes it easier for employees to refer their friends and colleagues, and to track their job submissions. You can also see your progress in searching and applying for jobs through the tracking logic (breadcrumbs) in the upper left part of the screen. The proximity search function allows you to search for jobs as close or as far away from your home as desired. In addition, Rcareers has Boolean search capability for added flexibility. The Talent Match provides the employee or job seeker the ability to copy/paste a resume into the job match and will compare resume keywords to existing requisitions, returning Raytheon opportunities that match the job seekers experience from the resume.
