The SLAMRAAM is a state-of-the-art, extended-range air defense system based on the combat-proven, dual-use AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM). SLAMRAAM provides cutting-edge capability to protect critical assets in maneuver warfare or homeland defense missions.

SLAMRAAM offers substantial improvements in combat effectiveness. With its all-weather, non-line-of-sight, over-the-horizon engagement capability, it provides the warfighter with a significantly increased battlespace over typical line-of-sight weapons. It can defeat a wide range of air-breathing targets, including cruise missiles and UAVs.

SLAMRAAM is already employed by a number of NATO nations and has been selected by the U.S. Army as the next-generation medium-range air and missile defense system. SLAMRAAM is deployed in the U.S. today as a component in the United States Capital Region homeland defense architecture.

With the integration of AIM-9 and SLAMRAAM-ER missiles, SLAMRAAM will expand its defended footprint and its defeated threat. This available, affordable and adaptable system is interoperable with the Patriot and other air defense systems.
