The Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3) is a long-range multi-sensor system for the U.S. Army scout, providing the real-time ability to detect, recognize, identify and geo-locate distant targets. The LRAS3 is the premier ground combat reconnaissance and surveillance system on the modern battlefield.
The LRAS3 enables Army scouts to conduct 24-hour reconnaissance and surveillance missions, remaining outside threat acquisition and engagement ranges. The LRAS3 replaces obsolete systems that require scouts to close within direct fire range of the threat they seek to detect.
eLRAS3 is the next generation Long Range Scout Surveillance System. eLRAS3 meets or exceeds all LRAS3 requirements, with a 55% reduction in sensor weight and volume and is fully compatible with all existing LRAS3 platforms.
The TOW ITAS provides a highly mobile, adverse weather, day or night capability needed by early entry forces to destroy advanced threat armor at greater standoff ranges in the main battle area. ITAS increases target detection, acquisition, recognition and engagement ranges; fires all versions of the TOW missile from both the M41 ground launcher (dismount mode) and the M1121 high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV) platform; and provides a growth path for future missiles.
The Commander’s Independent Viewer (CIV), for use on the Bradley A3, upgrades the capabilities of the U.S. Army’s Bradley fighting vehicle. It provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the battlefield to enhance situational awareness and weapon effectiveness.
Increased situational awareness, force effectiveness, and more accurate target engagements are made possible through the horizontal technology integration (HTI) SGFLIR standard advanced dewar assembly (SADA) II technology. With detection ranges lengthened y a factor of greater than four over first generation systems, HTI permits earlier engagements at greater standoff ranges (compared to first generation systems) and, therefore, greater crew confidence and increased system lethality.
