A wide variety of industries and applications rely on Raytheon’s laboratory facilities and analytical services. Areas of expertise include research, development, automotive, medical, space, telecommunications, satellites and durable goods, to cite a few.
Raytheon coordinates the laboratory facilities and specialists required to deliver the most effective solution. We offer the convenience of one reliable source for these and other laboratory, analysis, test and engineering consulting services:
- Counterfeit Parts Mitigation/Identification
- Counterfeit Parts Mitigation/Identification
Raytheon is fully qualified to address the proliferation of counterfeit, re-marked, and recycled parts and materials in the electronics manufacturing industry. We maintain a large suite of laboratory testing capabilities on site, staffed by expert lab professionals. To support our inspection and testing efforts, we can draw on a database containing 25 years of parts data for comparison.
In addition, Raytheon is engaged with various national organizations and working groups dealing with the CFP issue. We are a member of GIDEP (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program), the most recognized organization that tracks counterfeit material occurrences.
We also serve on the Society of Automotive Engineers’ G-19 Counterfeit Electronic Components Committee whose charter is to prevent, detect, respond to and counteract the threat of counterfeit electronic components. As a member of this SAE committee, Raytheon is creating solutions capable of performing all G-19 recommended nondestructive and destructive analytical techniques. (See chart below.)
Other groups Raytheon is involved with include:
- The ERAI High-Risk Parts Database group, which provides in-depth information about counterfeit, substandard and high-risk parts; and
- The Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA), a nonprofit trade association representing ethically oriented independent distributors of high-quality electronic components
