Raytheon was selected by the UK Ministry of Defence to undertake the Assessment Phase of the Army’s Joint Effects Tactical Targeting System (JETTS) digitized requirement. JETTS will provide automated software tools to enable British Army operational and tactical headquarters to co-ordinate and synchronise surveillance systems (sensors) and weapon and other effectors (shooters). It will be a tool for the Land Component Commander and his staff to link all their strike, sensor and enabling assets to better integrate joint capability to achieve the desired effect.
Realtime Readiness
In near real-time the Commander will be able to determine where his assets are and the state of readiness. The JETTS architecture shows true openness, scaleability and extensibility. JETTS will provide a significant combat advantage by dramatically improving readiness times (early assessments indicate as much as 75% improvement could be achieved). This will reduce timelines for engagements to seconds rather than minutes.
