The Fire Support Sensor System (FS3) is a long-range multisensor system for the U.S. Army forward observer, providing the real-time ability to detect, recognize, identify and geo-locate targets. The FS3 is the premier ground combat surveillance and fire support system on the modern battlefield.
The FS3 enables Army forward observers to conduct 24-hour fire support missions, remaining outside threat acquisition and engagement ranges. The FS3 replaces multiple obsolete systems, providing superior performance, new capabilities and enhanced maintainability.
