The AIMSS™ training course will help you become proficient in developing interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs). It will help writers move from the linear, or page-by-page, view of information to a hierarchical arrangement. The basic 40-hour course comprises half lecture and half laboratory exercises, and can be taught at your facility and tailored to meet your needs.
The course covers:
- Introduction to IETMs
- Installation
- Menu structure
- Editors
- Features
- IETM development project
- Achievement test
- Practical test
Since the AIMSS training course is experiential, class size is limited to ten students. Students should have a working knowledge of personal computers and be familiar with the Windows® computer environment.
For classes taught at your facility, our instructor will need a classroom with tables, chairs, a whiteboard with markers, and an overhead projector. We recommend that a personal computer be provided for every student; however, two students per personal computer is acceptable.
