Customized Engineering & Depot Support (CEDS) provides customers with a broad spectrum of engineering and limited-production services. CEDS provides Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) level 5 software engineering and level 3 systems engineering.

The CEDS workforce has extensive knowledge and program experience in:

  • airborne reconnaissance and electronic surveillance
  • airborne radar spares and repair
  • avionics and flight computers
  • aircraft armament equipment
  • weapon data links
  • podded aircraft systems
  • missiles and missile warning
  • weather systems
  • ground-defense radars
  • command, control, and communications
  • electro-optics
  • depot maintenance and supply support

CEDS provides mission systems and avionics software for the U.S. Marine Corps’ MV-22 assault aircraft and the U.S. Air Force’s CV-22 aircraft. For the overall V-22 aircraft program, we:

  • manage the Systems Integration Lab
  • lead the software support activity
  • perform updates to operational flight profile software
  • provide mission planning software
  • provide training devices

CEDS designed and provides integration and field support for the Shared Reconnaissance Pod, which provides real-time, high-resolution imaging to F/A-18E/F air crews and air operation commanders in support of:

  • pre-mission intelligence
  • post-mission damage assessment
  • real-time target tasking and retasking

CEDS provides Situational Awareness products to Army Aviation, the A-10 and the B-52, and provides full lifecycle support for both sea- and land-based electronics and weapons.

CEDS performs support on numerous platforms, including:

  • Firefinder Battlefield Radar
  • WSC-6 surface search radar
  • Seasparrow launcher — MK 29 Guided Missile Launching System
  • Kidd Class Destroyer
  • the U.S. Navy’s Extremely High Frequency Satellite Program, a performance-based logistics program

CEDS also supports the National Weather Service, as well as the U.S. Air Force Weather Agency and the Navy, with logistical support for weather systems and satellite ground stations.

Through a Canadian subsidiary, CEDS provides mission support to Canada’s military forces across numerous platforms, including the Phalanx Weapons System, SPS-49 Air Defense Radar and CF-18 avionics systems.
