Photon Research Associates, Inc. (PRA) is a cutting-edge technology services and products company which was acquired by The Raytheon Company in October of 2004. Since its inception in 1976, PRA has been a leader in the development and application of physics-based modeling, simulation and analysis products and services for both government and commercial markets. The major focus of our business operations has been in the areas of remote sensing, missile defense, surveillance & reconnaissance, intelligence data analysis, and stealth system design. PRA’s business model is to seamlessly merge the analysis and refinement of technically advanced, innovative concepts with field testing and demonstration, through to rapid fielding.

PRA was founded in San Diego, CA and since has expanded to four divisions, along with field offices, throughout the United States. Headquarters functions are now shared between Washington, DC and San Diego. We are proud to have our team include a diverse group of nationally recognized experts in a number of scientific disciplines including: Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Geography, Chemical Physics, and Computer Science. PRA's initial focus was on military and intelligence applications of optical (IR and visible) remote sensing, but over the years we have broadened our core technologies and business operations to include applications across the entire electromagnetic spectrum.
