On this page we address the issue of remediation, or how Raytheon, with the approval of the FDEP, intends to address impacted groundwater. Raytheon is committed to making sure that it meets its obligations to the community and to the State. Ever-changing advancements in the available testing and remediation technology require periodic evaluations of any environmental situation. That is no different here in St. Petersburg. Identifying the right solution requires careful review because hasty “band-aid” approaches could be ineffective or potentially exacerbate the conditions. Raytheon takes pride in its commitment to being a good corporate citizen.

Q1. What happens to the report after it is turned in on May 31st?

A1. Complete findings will be reported in an assessment report due to the FDEP by May 31, 2008. The FDEP will review Raytheon’s assessment and determine whether any additional information is necessary. Once the assessment is complete and the FDEP has approved it, Raytheon will then have 90 days to submit a remediation plan, which FDEP must also approve prior to implementation.
