Scientific studies independently conducted by the Florida Department of Health, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Raytheon have concluded there is no health threat from that facility.
Raytheon takes its stewardship responsibilities to its employees and the community seriously. The company has operated as a good corporate citizen for 13 years in the St. Petersburg/Largo area and currently employs 1,600 people at four local area facilities.

- Raytheon began communicating to St. Petersburg residents within days of purchasing the previous E-Systems facility in 1995
- Since purchasing E-Systems, Raytheon has not used the compounds of concern in its St. Petersburg operations
- Raytheon invests significant resources in the cleanup of past environmental contamination
- Since 1998, Raytheon has reduced hazardous waste by 87 percent per billion dollars of revenue company-wide. In 2008 alone, the company reduced hazardous waste by 13 percent.
- By the end of 2008, Raytheon had reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 38 percent as part of a seven-year company-wide reduction goal achieved one year ahead of schedule.
- Raytheon has received numerous awards from regulatory and enforcement agencies for its environmental stewardship including the EPA WasteWise Partner of the Year for solid waste recycling and pollution prevention, the 2009 ENERGY STAR Award for Sustained Excellence in Energy Management, and the VPP Star Award for Safety from OSHA.
