Raytheon’s Comprehensive Systems Solutions business uses world-class systems engineering, modeling and simulation, and command and control capabilities to
- execute the Army’s Brigade Combat Team – Modernization Ground Sensor Integrator (BCT-M GSI) program; and
- expand into new and emerging growth markets with emphasis on energy and knowledge management.
BCT-M GSI Program
As the Army’s principal supplier of advanced sensors, Raytheon was awarded the BCT-M GSI contract — a 10-year, $1 billion-plus program providing products and capabilities to increase force effectiveness, situational awareness and ultimately warfighter survivability. Raytheon develops and integrates advanced sensor technologies that quickly convert data into intelligence, which decreases decision timelines and increases combat power.
Energy Solutions
Delivering intelligent integrated energy systems for Department of Defense, Department of Energy and commercial customers, Raytheon provides integrated, holistic solutions that are required to meet the growing list of DoD, DoE and other federal renewable energy (RE) mandates and directives.
Concept-to-Reality Solutions
Raytheon delivers scalable concept-to-reality solutions that are energy-source agnostic and tailored to customer-specific needs. Our advanced modeling and simulation capabilities are used to design and integrate renewable energy sources (wind, solar photovoltaic, geo-thermal, biomass and more) that are optimized to the customer’s location and environment. Our team also leads the development and implementation phases to ensure optimal performance. During maintenance stage, Raytheon performs trade studies that address maturing technologies to ensure that cost, performance, regulatory and environmental goals are continually met.
Key Capabilities
Areas of focus for intelligent integrated energy systems include: mission understanding, command and control, communications, architecture development, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, climate monitoring, modeling and simulation, and analysis. Reducing dependence on foreign sources of fossil fuels is also a target area. Our efforts in synthetic and bio-fuels will help provide sustainable sources of liquid fuels while addressing greenhouse gas concerns through various CO2 sequestration options.
Knowledge Management and Knowledge Discovery
A suite of advanced tools enable customers to glean actionable knowledge from data by pulling data from multiple disparate, often unformatted, data sources to quickly identify items of interest. This capability helps mitigate risk and reduce loss incurred from fraud. Tools include automated reasoning, link analysis and hyperbolic browsers and are coupled with ontologies developed for specific customer needs.
